3 HABITS YOU SHOULD DO

1.Dress For Success

My golly did I once dress like a dimwit. As a teenager I always had the mentality that dressing well did not matter one bit. Boy was I wrong. Dead wrong. Wearing oversized trackpants from target with a loose-fitting t-shirt with zero color coordination or consideration of body type is the grand road to anti-success and anti-self-respect. How you dress totally matters. Why? Because people evaluate your worth and treat you based on your appearance.

How you dress is a huge part of that. Dress like a homeless person and you will be treated like one. Dress like a respected businessman and you will be treated like one. It’s that simple. The first time I bought a pair of double monk shoes thanks to the recommendation of Aaron Marino from the Alpha M YouTube channel, I couldn’t believe how many compliments I would get from people and still get to this day.

I also feel like a million dollars rockin’ my shiny shoes compared to those big “N” sneakers you get from Australian shoe shops like Spend-less. Dressing well has a powerful psychological effect on how you feel about yourself and how you behave. Your body language changes. People pick up on this. Trust me. When you start dressing well, you WILL notice a huge difference in your life. My ideal smart-casual outfit that I wear for many purposes is a pricey pair of slim-fit jeans that conform to my body and that I got an actual jeans shop. I couple that with my brown double monk shoes and a belt to match. I wear a tight-fitting shirt that conforms to my body that makes me look more muscular. When it’s cold I’ll put on my snazzy black leather jacket, not a grandma-knitted hand-me-down sweater.

I’m not bashing grandma’s creations. If you want to wear one that’s fine! But understand you will be treated like someone who wears grandma’s creations. I learnt how to dress from the Alpha M YouTube channel and Antonio Centeno’s channel Real Men Real Style. Instead of me dragging out this book with my kind-of-unqualified teachings, you may as well learn straight from the source so check their channels out! Along with dressing well comes grooming.

Brushing your teeth, shaving your beard so that it conforms to your face shape, using perfume, skin care etc… The list goes on. I keep things simple. Cut your hair, smell nice, take a shower. It’s not hard and so I see no reason to waste your time by going into detail.

2.Be Held Accountable

Joining or creating your own mastermind group where you can hold each other accountable is one of the best investments you will ever make. I cannot describe the value you get from having a buddy up your ass who makes sure you get your work done. Without accountability it’s easy to slack off. The first mastermind group I was invited into by my mentor.

I and 4 other hustlers would hop on a Google Hangout video call every 2 weeks and share with each other the tasks we would like to get done during those 2 weeks. In the following call we would review what we have done. Usually the social accountability is enough to motivate you to get your work done but if you want to take things to the extreme like myself, then you can put money at stake. If you don’t get your work done, you’ll give the people in your group an agreed-upon amount of money. Damn does it work! Usually…

The most common trap you'll fall into is setting the bar too high for yourself. Humans suck at estimating how long things will take but you'll get better with practice. You can do it in-person or online. Just make sure you choose people who HUSTLE and are COMMITTED otherwise these groups tend to fall apart. And don’t do it through text. Get on a call face-to-face, voice-to-voice. Meetup once a day, once a week, once a month. Whatever works for you.

Right now my buddy and I are doing 3-4 days and it works extremely well for us. It’s not too short of a time to be a nuisance and not long enough that we forget about things and slack off.

3.SMILE

Holy crap does smiling make a difference. Smiling makes you feel better. Try it now. I’ll wait… The body is the mind. Neurons fire when you smile. It may not get you out of deep depression, but hell it can help the average joe have a merrier day. The best part is you have complete control over whether you smile or not, and it is absolutely free. Smiling also has you perceived as a more positive person with confidence and happy-feels. You’ll make more friends, close more deals, and see more success with people in your life when you start smiling more.
